Rafał Malczewski (1892-1965),
syn Jacka Malczewskiego, był znanym i cenionym malarzem. Wiele lal spędził w Zakopanem gdzie mieszkał do 1939 : H roku, kiedy opuścił Polskę na zawsze Zamieszkał w Montrealu w Kanadzie. Do Polski przyjechał po wojnie tylko raz i to na krótko w 1959 roku. Od cepra do wariata to zbiór felietonów zakopiańskich. Ukazują one czytelnikowi specyficzną atmosferę Zakopanego w okresie międzywojennym.
